Brands and News

Hello all,

It’s been a while and I apologise for that but things have been rather busy. I’ve been getting weddings edited and handed over. I’ve been shooting and producing product for portraits. And I’ve been trying to take things a little easier as I tend to work around 80-110 hours per week.

My big plan for 2011 is to diversify my brand. My wedding work will continue under the RXAphotography framework as people know that, but my non-wedding work will be under my name, Richard Annable. This will de-clutter the website a little and allow more focussed delivery in the future.

The branding will look like this (the photo from the recent Tommy & Phil Emmanuel 50th anniversary tour).

Photo of the day #108 - Tommy Emmanuel Speaking of Tommy Emmanuel, I am flying to Adelaide on Saturday to photograph his concert with the aim of shooting some promotional material for his upcoming European tour with his full band. I can’t wait for the experience and look forward to sharing some of my favourites from the shoot.

Hopefully more articles coming your way shortly! Thanks for hanging around.

Photo of the day #93 - Bob at the pipe organ I am a member of the Monash Concert Band. Sunday the 7th was our big Proms Concert and during the sound check I managed to run around and grab some photographs.

{Melbourne Event Photographer} The Sharp

Photo of the Day #6 - Charlie & Allan - July 2010

Another photograph from The Sharp gig at the Sandbelt Club in Moorabbin. I set out to photograph this gig with images from Rolling Stone magazine in mind, especially the raw black and white images concert photographs from the 60’s.

This photograph grabbed me from the moment I saw it on my monitor. Two people, concentrating to make the whole greater than the sum of their individual parts. Two people, loving what they do.

{Melbourne Event Photographer} The Sharp

Photo of the Day #5 - Allan - July 2010

I had the honour and pleasure of photographing the first reunion gig of the Australian band “The Sharp”. The trio were very popular in the early nineties and recently reformed for the shows. I had the opportunity to photograph a rehearsal back in April and had full access to back-stage and the band for the soundcheck and gig last Friday night.

The boys gave a powerhouse 24 song show full of old hits, a few covers and even a new song. There was a great crowd to welcome back the band and for a wedding photographer I think I managed to nail a few “rock shots” that I’m very proud of.

I’m looking forward to the next Melbourne show later in the month.
